What can I do to start practicing yoga?

I’d like to start doing yoga to increase my flexibility and to help me relax more easily. Is there somewhere I should start?

I would recommend you start with Kundalini yoga, its an excellent, low stress form of yoga that is great for beginners.

Check out your local YMCA or other sports gym for classes, if you live in a bigger area there might be stand alone yoga studios as well. Don’t be afraid of a studio as they are very welcoming to beginners.

There are lots of yoga books and videos you can check out. You should look for one that specifically says “For beginners.” But classes are always a good place to begin. You could check out local gyms, but for most you have to be a member. Yoga studios are good if you can find one nearby. I’d google “yoga” and your city name to find local classes if I were you. Look for beginner classes.
If you’re serious about this, you should buy a mat (you can get them at sports stores or even places like Target).
